The Institute of Security Technologies MORATEX is implementing the partnership project “Science4Business – Science for Business” in a consortium of:
- Gdynia Maritime University (Leader),
- University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn,
- Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz,
- Institute of Horticulture – National Research Institute
The project will involve R&D work based on research results with identified commercial potential under Task 1 “Development Incubator.” Below are the assumptions of the second proposal selected by the ITB “MORATEX”:
A new generation of impact protection kit – a thigh protector.
The project will develop an innovative thigh protector designed for Police riot officers as an integral element of a new generation impact protection kit. This solution will provide a high level of protection compliant with the requirements of the BS 7971-4 (Level 2) standard, while significantly reducing weight and improving the ergonomics of the product, which will translate into reduced fatigue for officers during prolonged and dynamic operational activities.
The innovation lies in the combination of damping materials with high functionality in dynamic operational conditions. The project will result in a modern, lightweight, and functional protective solution that meets the real needs of police officers.

The total project cost is PLN 400,630.00.
