On May 28, 2025, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute for Sustainable Technologies, the purpose of which was to receive the results of the implementation of the contract for a research station for shredding post-consumer and technological waste based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers (UHMWPE). The station and process of shredding waste from non-woven flat textile products based on UHMWPE were validated, as well as training in the operation of the new device.
We can boast a research stand (proof of concept) that allows the shredding of post-consumer and technological waste based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers (UHMWPE) to particles with an average size of ≤ 0.5 mm at a capacity of 1 kg/h, which is a very satisfactory result.
The solution is being developed as part of the project “Ensuring Circularity of Soldier Personal Protection Equipment” acronym UTILE.
